Quick comebacks, fearless crowd work and plenty of laughs await
If you like your comedy fast, funny and just a little bit unpredictable, Paul Smith should be firmly on your radar.
The British stand-up favourite is heading to Etihad Arena on 31 January 2027, joining the third edition of Abu Dhabi Comedy Season for what promises to be a seriously entertaining night.
And if you’ve seen Smith’s comedy clips online, you’ll know that simply sitting in the audience doesn’t necessarily mean you’re safe from becoming part of the show.
Smith has built a huge following thanks to his razor-sharp wit, relaxed storytelling and, most importantly, his legendary crowd work.
A regular headline act at Liverpool’s Hot Water Comedy Club, he has become known for turning spontaneous conversations with audience members into hilarious exchanges.
Those quick-fire interactions have helped his clips rack up millions of views online, taking Smith from the comedy-club circuit to an international audience.
The beauty of a Paul Smith show is that you never quite know where the night is going to go. One audience member’s comment can send him down an entirely unexpected comedic rabbit hole, and that’s very much part of the fun.
Smith joins an already impressive line-up for the third edition of Abu Dhabi Comedy Season, following two successful seasons packed with sold-out shows and international comedy stars.
He’ll be sharing the season with previously announced names including Morgan Jay, Maz Jobrani, Mo Amer and Russell Peters, with even more comedians expected to join the programme.
The season is organised by Live Nation Middle East, in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Miral, continuing the capital’s growing reputation as a destination for major international comedy.
