A cultural gathering shaped by the people in the room is opening its next chapter in Abu Dhabi
Jalsa, Harmony Abu Dhabi’s cultural open-mic series, returns to Manarat Al Saadiyat on August 21.
Inspired by the Arabic word for a gathering, the series brings music, storytelling and community into one shared space.
Its first Abu Dhabi chapter drew more than 300 attendees, with 18 performers representing 10 nationalities and eight genres.
The programme is built around participation, giving artists and audiences a chance to connect through live expression and personal stories.
Each chapter takes on a different theme rooted in the UAE, with performances and immersive visuals transforming the room.
Previous chapters have explored ideas including gathering and resilience, while the next instalment continues to grow the Jalsa community.
With more than 100 artists showcased and 40 nationalities represented across its wider journey, Jalsa is becoming a living cultural space in Abu Dhabi.
At its heart, it remains simple: people coming together, sharing their voices and making the gathering what it is.
