If you’re looking for a fun way to stay active without battling Abu Dhabi’s summer heat, Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s Formula Run is back this weekend, and it’s shaping up to be one of the season’s most exciting fitness events.
Taking place this Saturday, 18 July, the popular indoor race invites runners of all ages and abilities to swap the treadmill for one of the world’s most iconic theme parks.
Whether you’re chasing a new personal best or simply looking for a unique weekend challenge with family and friends, there’s a distance to suit everyone.
Participants can choose between 2.5km, 5km and 10km routes, all winding their way through the air-conditioned surroundings of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
It’s not every day you get to run beneath record-breaking rollercoasters and past Ferrari-inspired attractions, making this a race that’s as much about the experience as it is about the finish line.
One of the biggest draws is that you don’t have to be a seasoned runner to take part. The shorter distance is ideal for beginners, families and children looking to enjoy a fun morning out, while the 5km and 10km races offer a bigger challenge for regular runners.
And, of course, no race is complete without a well-earned reward. Every finisher will receive an exclusive Formula Run medal, while participants will also collect a commemorative Formula Run T-shirt during registration, giving them a lasting reminder of the event.
The early morning start also means you’ll be finished before the day really heats up. Check-in opens at 6am, allowing runners plenty of time to collect their race packs before heading to the starting line.
The Formula Run has become a firm favourite on Abu Dhabi’s community fitness calendar thanks to its relaxed atmosphere, unique setting and inclusive nature.
