Abu Dhabi Police are keeping celebrations safe and traffic flowing this New Year’s Eve
Counting down to 2026? Whether you’re planning to watch fireworks, hit a beachfront party, or just drive home late, Abu Dhabi Police have one main message: get there safely!
The force is all set to keep New Year’s Eve celebrations across the emirate safe and stress-free, with a detailed traffic and safety plan ready to roll.
Popular hotspots, shopping centres, and major roads will be under close watch to help everyone enjoy the festivities without hiccups.
Traffic patrols and security teams will be out in force, keeping an eye on speed limits, phone usage, and safe driving distances.
Authorities have also warned against reckless behaviour, loud noise, and party sprays that could pose risks in crowded areas.

Behind the scenes, the Central Operations Sector’s Command and Control Centre is fully prepped, equipped with advanced tech and trained personnel ready to respond to any situation.
Special traffic rules for labour buses
To ease congestion, labour buses will face temporary restrictions on Abu Dhabi–Al Ain Road (E22) from Wednesday, 31 December at noon until Thursday, 1 January at 6am.
Drivers of these buses have been asked to use alternative routes, while logistics and public cleaning vehicles are exempt.
Clear signage will guide drivers, and authorities are advising everyone to plan journeys ahead and follow instructions.
