Another big development in the capital
Abu Dhabi will be getting a brand-new stadium very soon, big enough to host 30,000 people.
The plans, presented to the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today, revealed that the new development will be located in Zayed City.
Named Al Jazira Club Stadium, it will have a seating capacity for 24,000 people, which can expand up to 30,000.
Construction will start next year, and it’s expected to be completed within three years. It will host everything from sports competitions to celebrations and other public gatherings.

There will also be dedicated hospitality services for spectators, including restaurants and lounges that will remain open all year round.
The new infrastructure supports the UAE’s vision to develop world-class sports facilities that not only attract big events, but also enhance the quality of life of Abu Dhabi residents.
This commitment is also visible in other parts of the city, like the recent developments in Hudayriat Island. Surf Abu Dhabi has become a destination for surfers from all over the globe as the biggest artificial wave pool in the world. And the new Velodrome, also on Hudayriat Island and set to open later this year, will accommodate over 3,500 spectators and have a rooftop cycling track.
