We could be having an extra long weekend
The UAE National Day celebrations are right around the corner but you may be wondering how many days we will actually have off.
The 54th National Day will be officially celebrated on Tuesday December 2, with UAE public holiday law declaring that day and December 3 a public holiday every year.
So that means a nice midweek break on Tuesday and Wednesday for UAE residents but could there be a chance for an extra long weekend?

Will we get a long weekend for National Day celebrations in the UAE?
Well, maybe – according to a new UAE public holiday law, days off can be moved around (apart from Eid celebrations).
This law states: “With the exception of Eid holidays, the Cabinet may – pursuant to a resolution it issues – transfer any of the public holidays referred to in Article (1) of this Resolution to the beginning or end of the week.”
This means that we could have Monday off as an extra day, turning the UAE National Day celebrations into an epic five day weekend.
The other more likely option is for the Wednesday public holiday to be moved to Monday, meaning UAE residents would enjoy a four day weekend.
Of course, there is also a possibility that the UAE government decide to keep Tuesday and Wednesday as the official public holidays – we will have to wait and see.
