Donald Trump set to visit UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia next month in high-stakes tour

Mark your calendars! US President Donald Trump is making his first official overseas trip since stepping back into the Oval Office, and yep, the UAE is on his radar.

According to a report from The National, Trump will touch down in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia from 13 to 16 May in what’s shaping up to be a high-stakes (and likely headline-making) visit.

But before that, he’s off to Rome this Friday for the funeral of Pope Francis, who passed away earlier this week.

So what’s the deal with the Gulf tour?

The White House says the goal is to “strengthen ties” with key Middle East partners — and you can expect lots of meetings, big trade talk, and maybe even some movement on the regional peace front.

ICYMI, Trump mentioned this trip was in the works a few weeks back, especially after talking up nearly $1 trillion worth of investment promises from Saudi Arabia — yes, you read that right. That’s trillion, with a T.

The visit will likely include plenty of discussion around tariffs, economic cooperation, and possibly the ongoing regional conflict.
