It is expected you will be able to take an air taxi from Dubai-Abu Dhabi in under 30 minutes
Skip the traffic and soar the skies; UAE’s air taxis are ready for take-off by 2026.
The country is gearing up to introduce full-fledged air taxi services by next year, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi leading the charge in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) transportation.
Companies like Archer Aviation and Joby Aviation are preparing aircraft designed for short trips, ranging from 10 to 30 minutes, targeting inter-city travel and urban tourism.
Initial routes may include travel from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in under 30 minutes or quick trips from Dubai International Airport to the Palm Jumeirah.
Infrastructure to support these services is already underway, with vertiports being developed in key locations such as Downtown Dubai, the Marina, and Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

The eVTOL aircraft, including Archer’s four-passenger Midnight model and Joby’s similar capacity aircraft, are designed for fast, back-to-back trips with minimal charging time.
While early operations will focus on limited routes and premium pricing, broader adoption is expected to follow as the market matures.
Though not meant to replace mass transit, air taxis aim to provide a fast, efficient, and sustainable alternative for high-priority travel corridors.
With the UAE’s fast-tracked regulatory and infrastructure development, these futuristic flights are expected to start as luxury options, particularly appealing for tourists, before becoming more accessible over time.
Pricing is still under wraps, but early estimates suggest fares around AED 300. As the service scales and more aircraft enter operation, costs are expected to drop, paving the way for more widespread use.
