Dive into the cultural heartbeat of Abu Dhabi as Iris Projects launches its gallery in MiZa with an exhibition by Alyazia Al Nahyan
Visual arts and culture agency Iris Projects is set to open its contemporary gallery space in Abu Dhabi’s cultural neighbourhood, MiZa, on 20 November 2024.
Situated within the creative hub of M_39 in Mina Zayed, the gallery will launch during Abu Dhabi Art with an inaugural exhibition showcasing Emirati artist Alyazia Al Nahyan, curated by Nadine Khalil.
Founded by Maryam Al Falasi, Iris Projects has established itself as a platform for artists from the Middle East, representing both emerging and established talents.
“Iris Projects began as a dream to showcase the best talent our region has to offer,” says Al Falasi, “and to bridge art and culture in ways that resonate with the community and spark cultural dialogue globally.”

The gallery’s opening marks the arrival of Abu Dhabi’s first dedicated gallery space in MiZa, bringing a rich programme of exhibitions, panels, talks, and tours to art enthusiasts.
The first exhibition highlights Al Nahyan’s nature-inspired art, crafted with found materials and delicate abstractions. Khalil, a mentor to Al Nahyan, describes her work as capturing “the impressions and shadows of landscapes” in a way that renders memories in her unique process of mark-making.
In addition to the gallery launch, Iris Projects will debut at Abu Dhabi Art with a booth featuring works by Alyazia Al Nahyan and Juma Al Haj.
This annual art fair, held at Manarat Al Saadiyat from 20-24 November under the patronage of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, celebrates the best of regional and international art.
Set to contribute to Abu Dhabi’s growing cultural landscape, Iris Projects is a significant new addition to MiZa, located near world-renowned institutions like Louvre Abu Dhabi and the future Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
With an exciting lineup of future exhibitions, Iris Projects invites art lovers to explore a new era of contemporary art in the UAE.
