Abu Dhabi is once again gearing up to host the season-opening event of the World Triathlon Championship Series 2024, solidifying its reputation as a global hub for major sporting events.
Taking place from 8-9 March the capital city will witness elite triathletes from around the world competing across Yas Marina Circuit’s waterways, tracks, and roads, with the race culminating at the iconic F1 start line.
Building on the success of the 2022 Championship Finals, Abu Dhabi is the MENA region’s exclusive host of the WTC event before the series continues its journey through Japan, Italy, Germany, Canada, and ultimately concluding in Malaga, Spain.
The event promises two days of excitement, blending elite competition and community participation, with an event village offering family-friendly entertainment.

With the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games on the horizon, the competition is expected to attract the world’s best athletes vying for precious qualifying points.
In addition to elite races, the event features community races, including single discipline running and cycling events, making it the largest and most inclusive triathlon event in the Middle East.
The visually striking 2024 WTC medal design incorporates elements of the iconic Yas Marina Circuit F1 racetrack, symbolising the dynamic balance shared by all triathletes.
This eagerly awaited event promises a weekend of thrilling competition and community engagement.
