Contributing to your favourite charity in Abu Dhabi is now as simple as a few taps on your smartphone
Ramadan, the Holy Month of fasting, is not just about abstinence from food and drink, it is also a time of giving and generosity towards others.
In the spirit of this tradition, the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, Abu Dhabi Government’s official platform for social contributions, has launched the ‘Abu Dhabi Gives Back’ drive, which encourages residents to support community projects that matter to them and make a sustainable social impact.
Contributors can also now quickly and easily make a pledge to their chosen projects using a new mobile application called Abu Dhabi MAAN, which can be downloaded on both Apple and Android devices.
The ‘Abu Dhabi Gives Back’ campaign encourages the community to contribute to an array of social priorities, including health, education, environment, social sector and infrastructure.

“Those who share contributions through Ma’an become part of a collaborative community that supports the delivery of sustainable solutions and long-lasting social impact,” said Faisal Alhmoudi, Executive Director of the Social Investment Fund at the Authority of Social Contribution Ma’an.
“Ma’an’s fundraising activities allow community members across the emirate of Abu Dhabi to enable third sector organisations to support a number of social priorities aligned with the government’s ongoing commitments, in turn contributing to Abu Dhabi’s vision of a collaborative and participatory social ecosystem and inclusive society.”
From volunteering at charities to giving donations to important initiatives and spreading positivity, there are countless ways to get involved and give back to the community.
If you’re looking for sporting and wellness activities to keep you and the entire family in shape this Holy Month, there are also a number of sporting facilities and entertainment venues in Abu Dhabi hosting special events for participants of all ages and fitness levels.
Contributions can also be made via maan.gov.ae, apart from the mobile apps available on Android and Apple devices
