THE QUEEN’S PLATINUM AFTERNOON TEAS

(All week)

The great historical custom of afternoon tea is the definitive experience of British culture, and where else to enjoy this delightful ritual than on the QE2? Since the 1840s, afternoon tea was traditionally associated with high society and soon became a fashionable social event; ladies would wear opulent jewellery, ornate gloves, formal hats and gowns, and enjoyed polite conversation while being served tea and scones in the drawing room.

Step onboard the QE2 and come and indulge in the tradition and merriment. Guests can enjoy a selection of classic sweet and savoury delights, traditional English breakfast tea, and freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam.

Other events to celebrate the Queen’s jubilee include The Big Jubilee Family Lunch (5 June from 12 noon) which also features children’s entertainers hosting Prince & Princess Storytime for little ones.

If you think you know your royal history, then grab some friends and book a table at The Queen’s Platinum Quiz Night (1 June, 8pm).

From Monday 30 May until Sunday 5 June on the QE2 and Theatre by QE2, Queen Elizabeth 2, Mina Rashid Port.
