Over the course of 16 years, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque welcomed over 67 million visitors

Abu Dhabi is once again extending a warm welcome to all visitors in the capital by announcing that the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque will be offering nightly tours for people who want to experience this cultural gem in all its glory.

The mosque’s new Sura Evening Cultural Tours have been launched with the aim to entice travellers in transit from the newly opened Abu Dhabi airport who don’t have a lot of time in the city and want to experience one of the most popular attractions.

Over the course of 16 years, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque welcomed over 67 million visitors, establishing itself as a prominent global destination. It can host more than 40,000 worshippers at once and is the legacy of the Founding Father of the UAE late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The tours will be available in 14 languages, come equipped with multimedia guide devices and will also cater for the visually impaired and the deaf. Contrastingly to the day time offerings, the nightly tour will cost AED20.

Visiting the mosque during regular opening hours, from 9am to 9.30pm, is still free of charge, although pre-registration is required.
