Formula Regional Asian Championship coming to Abu Dhabi

Emirati family will be taking part at Yas Marina Circuit.

Racing fans get your engines revving as the Formula Regional Asian Championship is rolling into Abu Dhabi.

Formerly known as the Asian Formula 3, the race championship begins on 21 January before moving onto to Dubai for three rounds before returning to Yas Marina Circuit for the final leg on 18 February.

Getting behind the wheel will be three Emirati racers from the same family. Khaled Al Qubaisi will be joined by his two daughters Amna and Hamda as they attempt to reach the checkered flag first.

It is Amna’s (21) second season competing in the series with her younger sibling, Hamda (19), making her first competitive outing in the challenging Formula Regional Tatuus.

Team Principal of PREMA, Rene Rosin, said the team is excited to work with the family.

He said: “We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Abu Dhabi Racing and the Al Qubaisi family. We worked with Khaled, Amna, and Hamda several times during the years, and it will be special to field them all together this time.

“We are also strong supporters of the Formula Regional Asian Championship. Our experience last year was extremely positive, so we are looking forward to another highly-competitive season.”

It’s great news for race fans of Abu Dhabi as the championship follows the recently held Gulf 12 Hours and the dramatic Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December.
