The Integrated Transport Centre announces changes to Abu Dhabi bus fares and passes, effective 28 February
It is great news for those using Abu Dhabi buses.
There is now a new fare system for its public transport network, merging city and suburban bus routes in Abu Dhabi starting today, 28 February.
Under the new system, the Standard Service fare will be AED 2 for boarding, with an additional charge of 5 fils for each kilometer travelled. Passengers can transfer between bus services twice within 60 minutes of the last tap-out without incurring an extra boarding fee.
Additionally, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has extended the range of passes to cover city and suburban areas in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra. The weekly Standard Service pass will cost 35 dirhams, while the 30-day pass will be priced at 95 dirhams.
Emirati families with limited income enrolled in social support programmes under the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority or the Ministry of Community Development are eligible for subsidized public transport passes. The 7-day pass is offered at AED 30, while the 30-day pass costs AED 80.
There are no changes to the free annual passes for seniors and people of determination, which include a plus one, or the student annual pass, valued at AED 500.
Additionally, transport remains free for children aged 10 years and below.
