Etihad Airways and Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi launches new family flying experience

The campaign will offer kid friendly packs, meals, entertainment and more on board.

Families will be experiencing the high-life the next time they step aboard with Etihad Airways as the airline launched its new experience today (15 February).

Partnering with Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi, the airline has introduced its new Little VIP campaign which aims to make travelling with children as easy as possible.

This one-of-a-kind experience sees your children receive an activity pack emblazoned with park legends like Scooby-Doo, Daffy Duck and Tom and Jerry to help keep them their entertained on long-haul flights.

Designed for three different age ranges, infants up to two years will receive a soft fleece blanket decorated with the faces of Tweety, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Sylvester; young flyers aged three to eight years, will be given a drawstring bag featuring an activity book, crayons, memory card game and passport holder; and tweens and teens aged nine to 13 will be delighted with a Scooby-Doo themed backpack featuring the Museum of Mysteries board game, all of which can be taken home and reused again thanks to the packs being free of single-use plastics.

 

 

But the wonderful gift packs are not the only family-first initiatives that Etihad Airways are introducing.

Young travellers will be given their meals first which will be served in Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi themed dining equipment in bright colours with traditional children’s favourites such as fusilli pasta with meatballs, waffles and pancakes being added to the menu after consultation and feedback with family travellers.

The inflight entertainment will offer a wide selection of family-friendly Warner Bros. movies and TV shows including Space Jam, Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Bugs Bunny and the Flintstones alongside kid-friendly music albums and a variety of e-games.

 

 

But the comprehensive family experience will start even before you have buckled up your seatbelt with a dedicated family check-in space at Abu Dhabi International Airport now available for families to use to make the journey to your destination as smooth as possible.

There will even be a small set of stairs at the check-in counters for kids to enjoy a sneak peek at the check-in process.

 

 

Speaking on the announcement Terry Daly, Executive Director Guest Experience, Brand and Marketing, Etihad Airways, said: “This year, we will bring product innovation to the forefront, and this is the first of many exciting developments to look forward to. We’re thrilled to be kicking this off with a focus on our ‘Little VIPs’ and their families.

“We understand and appreciate that it’s not always easy travelling with little ones, however, this collaboration with Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi is designed to make the travel experience an exciting one for children and an easier one for their parents.

“With the help of Scooby-Doo and the Looney Tunes, we promise that even the tiniest travellers will love every minute of their journey with Etihad Airways.”

General Manager of Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi, Don Strickler, said the theme-park was delighted to team up with airline to provide this unique experience for kids and their parents and looked forward to expanding their offerings with the UAE’s national airline.
