The latest programme will help mSMEs identify and increase opportunities from private and government entities!
If you’re a small to medium business looking for better avenues, there’s a new programme in the UAE capital for you!
Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has now launched the Abu Dhabi SME Champion programme. Meant to enable mSME opportunities, they aim to support building skills and increase their share of procurement opportunities from private large companies and government-related entities (GREs).
The opportunity to expand capabilities will come via various training and mentorship programmes, working towards ensuring their readiness to compete professionally in procurement and scale up their businesses to play a greater role in Abu Dhabi’s economy.

The programme will also cooperate with large companies and GREs to raise their awareness of mSMEs’ capabilities as trusted suppliers.
In its first phase, the programme will facilitate procurement opportunities valued at AED30 million, with support from Aldar Properties, Etihad Aviation Group, Emirates Steel Arkan Group, and Ittihad Papermill.
They will also nominate specialised teams to coordinate and work with the selected mSMEs on workshops and training as well as selecting qualified mSMEs. Future cohorts will see more large companies and GREs joining the programme to support Abu Dhabi mSME.
