Construction on this state-of-the-art complex, previously also known as Midfield Terminal, began in 2012 and was expected to take five years to complete. However, after suffering from some complications and setbacks along the way, Terminal A as it’s now known, is due to open in two months’ time.

The new AED 10.8 billion terminal will provide a boost to Etihad passengers with up to 11,000 guests availing of the facilities per hour and a whopping 30 million passengers on an annual basis.

The terminal welcomed its first passenger a couple months ago as Tom Cruise of the Mission Impossible franchise landed there. The actor was in the capital recording and promoting the latest movie in the action-packed series.
