Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry forms a new board for the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council

The board hopes to execute initiatives that support female entrepreneurs in the capital.

Pushing women to contribute to economic growth has been on the capital’s radar for a while. As part of the efforts to push businesswomen, the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has formed a new board for the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council (ADBWC).

As part of their mandate, the new board will help female entrepreneurs refine their skills; introduce them to the applicable laws and policies; and help them learn how to leverage local and federal government initiatives and incentives to name a few.

Chaired by Asma Al Fahim, the ADBWC board comprises members from the Abu Dhabi Chamber. Joining them are successful businesswomen in Abu Dhabi, including Nour Al Tamimi, Dr Khadija Al Ameri, Marwa Al Mansouri, and Sheikha Al Nuwais.

Chairwoman Asma Al Fahim said, “The support of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and Honorary Chairwoman of the ADBWC, played a huge role in women development in all fields, especially entrepreneurship. Thanks to H.H. Sheikha Fatima, the Emirati woman is now equipped with all the factors of success to occupy her proper place regionally and internationally.”

She also highlighted the ADBWC’s focus on increasing communication with businesswomen in Abu Dhabi. In doing so, they will be able to better update the entrepreneurs on the latest economic changes, the Council’s new initiatives and programmes, etc.

Ultimately, the board hopes to equip female entrepreneurs with all the necessary tools that enable them to leverage all business opportunities in local, regional and international markets.
