The working week is over, the weekend beckons and a pot of gold glitters on the horizon.
The pot of gold, of course, is a fabulous Friday brunch or to be more precise the White Brunch at Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort.
Yes… it’s back and shouldn’t be missed!
Team Yalla left the confines of the bustling metropolis of downtown Abu Dhabi and head over the bridge to Saadiyat Island, where impeccable service, a chic vibe and delicious dishes await.
There is something awe-inspiring when one drives through Saadiyat Island. Is it the expanse of nature as far as the eye can see or the pristine beaches on which the crest of waves on a clear blue sea come crashing down?
The answer is both. And is in fact a reflection of Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort itself, which presides over one of the most beautiful beaches around, on which azure waters gently lap.
Look closely and you may even catch a glimpse of some of the wildlife. We didn’t, because our attention was solely focused on the brilliant brunch laid out before us as we soaked up the atmosphere.
White Brunch is located in the restaurant of the same name, whose clean lines mirror that of the natural location in which it is set.
The service was incredibly personable and we could not fault our waiter, Rohit, who was absolutely brilliant and made sure we didn’t go without at any point of our afternoon. And from where we were sitting, we could see that all serving staff were attending to guests in a similar manner.
We were also lucky to meet Amol Takkekor, Chef De Cuisine at Jumeirah Saadiyat Resort, who gave us a tour of the buffet that he and his team had created especially for diners.
The brunch itself is truly international, and each station takes you on a journey to different regions around the world, with a nod to both East and West – Arabic, Indian, Far Eastern… the list is endless.
We chose to sit outside with stunning views all the way to the beach. There are a number of bars down there, and once the brunch has ended, you’ll find many of the diners there continuing the fun, including us.
There is ample servings of delicious dishes at the indoor live cooking stations, but there’s even more outside. Chefs there are ready to carve you succulent slices of brisket fresh from the barbeque or dish up paella from the biggest paella pan we had ever seen, and the aroma filled the air.
Is there room for dessert? Probably not, but do leave some as these are probably some of the best desserts around and shouldn’t be missed.
The bubbly flowed all afternoon, diners soaked in the live entertainment and vibrant atmosphere … White, we’re glad you’re back!
