Your half-term holiday sorted

If you’re looking for what to do during the half-term break in Abu Dhabi then look no further. Family time is what we do best, and we’ve got lots of ideas about how to spend the break and keep everyone entertained; from free days out to the best five books for your little bookworms…

Half-term on a budget

We know- school holidays can be expensive, and even more so since the “V” word has been introduced (yep, there’s no escaping VAT!). But don’t worry, we’ve come up with these fun and budget-friendly ways to spend the half-term, and even better, most of them are completely free!

-Take a camping trip in the desert

-Cycle around the Yas Marina Circuit (on Sunday & Tuesday only)

-Explore the forts and the oasis in Al Ain

-Drive up to the dizzying heights of Jebel Hafeet

-Step back in time at the Heritage village

"Must-tries" further afield...

For a special treat this half-term, why not head to Dubai and spend the day at one of the city’s theme parks (or two)? There’s fun for all ages at Dubai Parks & Resorts, with LEGOLAND Dubai, LEGOLAND Waterpark, Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai, and Riverland Dubai, whilst serious movie fans can head to the world’s largest indoor theme park, IMG Worlds of Adventure.

For something a little less adrenalin-filled, Dubai Safari is brilliant for families with younger children, and with tickets starting from only AED20 per child, a day here is most definitely good value for money.

*Money-saving tip*: Most parks offer annual passes which offer much better value if you think that you’ll be heading back later in the year

Get sporty

The Abu Dhabi Junior Aquathlon returns to Al Bateen beach on February 10 and is open to children of all ages. The entry fee is AED100 per child, and you can register for the event here

For little bookworms...

Of course, you could always read the newest edition of the Yalla Know It All Guide over the half-term?!

Ok, so that might not take the whole week, but seriously though- our Kids’s Corner feature has five of the best reads for children, so if your child is a little bookworm, then pick up your copy now to find out what they need to be reading over the half-term. You can thank us later for the peace and quiet!
