Expo 2020 Dubai reveals entry requirements

PCR test to taken within 72 hours prior to arrival.

Organisers have announced entry requirements for Expo 2020 Dubai.

The event, which is due to begin on 1 October, will see visitors over the age of 18 required to present proof of any vaccine recognised by their national government or a negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours.

Those who have not received a double dose of an approved vaccine and have not been tested within the 72 hours will have to undergo a swab at the PCR testing facility adjacent to the Expo 2020 Dubai.

Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director-General of Expo 2020 Dubai, Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, said the new procedures will make the event safe for every visitor.

HE Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy said: “Our commitment to the health and safety of all visitors, participants and staff will remain our number one priority. We will continue to follow the guidance of the leading science and medical experts, adjusting our measures as appropriate in our commitment to hosting an exceptional experience that all the world can enjoy.

“This enhanced measure is responsible, agile and necessary as we prepare to open our doors to the world.”

It was also revealed that a network of testing centres across Dubai would be providing free PCR tests on presentation of a valid Expo 2020 Dubai ticket.

Running until 31 March, Expo 2020 Dubai will see more than 190 countries descend on the UAE in a worldwide sharing of culture and innovation.
