Where to Celebrate Eid Al Adha in the Capital

With an extended weekend to look forward to, here’s what’s happening around the Capital to celebrate Eid Al Adha- from traditional to the quirky, and everything in between!

Entertain the whole family with roaming performances at Abu Dhabi Mall...

From 22 – 25 August, enjoy four days of fun-packed acts as a host of talented artists roam around Abu Dhabi Mall. Daily from 3pm-10pm, families can watch live performances from a circus parade, magician, juggler, and colourful mimes, plus there’ll be a roaming jukebox and even an unusual ball display- you’ll have to see it to believe it!

The star of the show though is the Giant Teddy, who will be ready to welcome little ones to the mall’s festivities.

All activities are free of charge and suitable for the whole family.

Escape with a staycation at the new Grand Hyatt...

The newly opened Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Residences Emirates Pearl is offering all GCC residents the chance to escape this Eid with a luxury staycation from AED700 per night with breakfast. Located at the end of the Corniche (Ras Al Akhdar area), the hotel welcomes guests with an upgraded room, complimentary pool access, and AED200 F&B credit per day- valid in all outlets. Indulge in brunch at Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas...

Savour fresh flavours and ingredients with a choice of over 100 dishes from around the world at Saadiyat Rotana Resort’s brunch on Wednesday 22 August.

With a host of interactive live cooking stations, adults can dine and socialise whilst children stay fully entertained in a dedicated kids’ area with games and activities. Brunch is from 12pm-4pm. Adult packages start from AED285, children under 12 receive 50% discount, and children under 6 dine for free.

The Pearl Rotana Capital Centre welcomes families for a delicious Eid brunch in Saffron on Wednesday 22 August, and to complete the experience, guests can also enjoy 25% off the best available room rates- brunch and a staycation- what could be better? The hotel is relatively new to the Abu Dhabi hotel scene and is located just steps away from the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Brunch is from 12.30pm- 4pm. Adult packages start from AED165 per person, children receive 50% discount.

Saadiyat Island Rotana

Experience Emirati traditions at The Galleria, Al Maryah Island...

The Galleria on Al Maryah Island will be celebrating Eid Al Adha with a host of family-friendly activities from 3pm-9pm each day from 20-24 August.

Indulge in traditional treats, be enthralled by cultural dances, and don’t miss the opportunity to get creative with Arabic calligraphy, henna applications, and sand bottle art.

There’s a full schedule of arts & crafts for the kids, with an Arabic tent where they’ll be able to spend hours creating their own crafts.

Watch Aladin & other live shows at Cascade Dining, Yas Mall...

Cascade Dining at Yas Mall will treat visitors to five days of fun from 21– 25 August with enchanting shows, roaming entertainment, and a host of activities for the kids. Festivities will take place from 4pm until 10pm daily, with shows such as Aladdin, 1001 Arabian Nights, and The Magic Lamp taking place at 5pm, 7pm, and 9pm.

As always, you’ll be able to dine at one of Cascade Dining’s nineteen outlets, and of course, you’ll be able to catch the mall’s water fountain show every thirty minutes during lunch and dinner time.

With Arabic dance shows from around the GCC and a henna majlis, visitors can enjoy a truly tradiitional Eid experience at Ferrari World. For little ones (and bigger kids too!), there’ll be face painting stations, balloon twisting, and a colour and craft area.

End your Eid holiday with a bang at Yas Marina...

Yas Marina will welcome families with quirky food trucks and evening Dhow cruises in a spectacular three-day celebration this Eid Al Adha, culminating in an impressive firework show at 9pm each evening.

Why not experience something traditional and watch the fireworks from the water onboard a traditional dhow boat, complete with Arabic coffee and dates. Captain Tony’s cruises will depart from the marina at 8.30pm every evening.

There’s something for foodies too, as all of Yas Marina’s award-winning restaurants will be open, including Cipriani Yas Island, Iris, Aquarium, Diablito and Stars ‘N’ Bars.
