You’ll need a 48-hour negative PCR result to attend these Christmas church services in Abu Dhabi

Services take place over four days.

As Christians across Abu Dhabi gear up for one of the most important dates in the Christian calendar, churches across the capital have announced safety precautions for all those attending Christmas services over the festive season.

St. Andrew’s Church said on its website that due to a “Covid outbreak in our congregation”, the church will have to “enforce a 48-hour negative PCR for entry” to all services over the festive season.

The services include Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Holy innocents on Sunday.

The chaplain also announced on its website that anybody who wants to attend such services but finds the cost of the PCR test prohibitive to “please contact the chaplain for assistance”.

According to the region’s media, limited seating capacity, wearing masks and complying with social distancing measures will be enforced across other churches in the capital.
