You are no doubt revving yourself up for a dramatic day of racing as seven-times world champion Lewis Hamilton looks to overhaul Max Verstappen and his legions of orange-clad followers at the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix today (12 December) to bring home the world title once again.
However, before the checkered flag is waved to signal another end to a riveting Formula 1 season, race fans can gear themselves up for more live racing from Yas Marina Circuit with the announcement that the F1 is here to stay in the capital.
The news comes after Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management (ADMM) announced that Formula 1 has renewed its contract at the Yas Marina Circuit to keep the tyres on the track until 2030.

Speaking on the announcement CEO of ADMM, Al Noaimi said reaffirmed Yas Marina Circuit’s status as a world class venue.
He said: “The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and Yas Marina Circuit continue to introduce hundreds of millions of spectators and TV viewers to Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates.
“The signing of a new multi-year deal with the Formula One Group not only represents the strength of our relationship but reaffirms our commitment to delivering an unparalleled and world-class race weekend experience for all visitors to enjoy.”
The circuit underwent significant upgrades this year which saw the track reconfigured in three areas; the north hairpin (Turn 7); the south marina (beginning at Turn 11); and the hotel section (beginning at Turn 17).
On the track, F1 Drivers Championship leader starts in pole position ahead of Hamilton (second) after recording the quickest time in qualifying yesterday.
The Dutch driver leads the English man by the slimmest of margins with both tied on 369.5 points but the 24-year-old in first spot courtesy of his nine Grand Prix wins to the Hamilton’s eight.
The lights will turn green at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at 5pm this evening and Team Yalla will be there.
