The gesture by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) is a thanks to all of the emirate’s workers who have spent almost two years working and treating Covid-19 patients without being able to return home to see their families.
Taking to its social media channels, SEHA said it wanted to show its appreciation of the efforts of its staff.
The post said; “Because they truly deserve to be recognised for their selfless efforts and sacrifices, Seha wanted to show our frontline heroes appreciation by reuniting them with their families.”
In April, the UAE pledged to support the families of 14 frontline workers who contracted the coronavirus and passed away during their duties.
Established last July, The Frontline Heroes office, will ensure that the loved ones who made the ultimate sacrifice will not be forgotten or left behind.
The office also will provide select frontline workers with a scholarship to reduce their education costs.
The grant supported by Sandooq Al Watan, a social initiative launched by the Ministry of Education, the private sector and Emirati businessmen, will help eligible frontline workers and their children study at private universities and colleges in the UAE.
