‘PASS’ Abu Dhabi is carrying on with its Fundamental Movement Programmes for the month of March  and it’s  a great opportunity to get the kids active and learning new sporting skills or building on old ones all week long at these locations:

Head to Manarat Al Saadiyat for a spot of art therapy at the Painting & Drawing Drop-in-Studio

Painting & Drawing Drop-in-Studio. The daily classes are for all ages and you’ll get to casually experiment with an easy-to-follow art activity and to create art at your pace. And while you are there, drop into one of the biggest Hip-Hop exhibitions ever.

Cinema Culture


On 8 March get to watch three short films by Emirati filmmaker Abdurahman Al Madani

As part of CinemaNA.  The programme includes Nagafa: 10-year-old Ahmad tries to overcome peer intimidation caused by the class bully; Beshkara: A Filipino caretaker wants to return to her country after receiving bad news; Laymoon: Maitha, a middle-aged housewife, tries to rekindle life back into her marriage. Step up to it!


Step ZSC – Every Monday is the time to don your sportswear and step it up at ZCS famed stair climbing challenge. For aged 12 and above, head to Zayed Sports City stadium, 5pm -8pm, and climb a mountain. It’s free too!

Cinema buffs, head to the big screen – well, it’s actually on line. Float presents two recent films by Berlin-based Stephanie Comilang that narrates the lives of overseas Filipino workers, complicating documentary forms with references to science fiction. Runs till 21 March.

Day trip, days out!

Looking for a fab new place to take in the fresh sea air, then head to Al Gurm Corniche where rest areas, exercise and leisure opportunities, telescopes and reading nooks await with glorious views across the Mangroves. There is even a history-themed zone that tells the story of modern Abu Dhabi.

Walk the port


The Mina Zayed area of the city is on the move and the Mina Zayed Photo-Walk captures it all beautifully. The three-hour photo-walk explores the rapidly-changing area and Warehouse421, located between industrial warehouses near the port perfectly sets the scene for a sleek-yet-rugged portraiture and several of Abu Dhabi’s popular markets, including the fish, date and vegetable markets.
