Finding the right home and location is crucial to your quality of life. And with new places to live regularly being built in Abu Dhabi, more than most places in the world it seems, keeping up to date with where is best for your family to be is vital. Here we are delighted to share with you a view of living in Al Reem Island.

Marina Square RestaurantsAl Reem Island has proved to be the fastest growing neighbourhood within Abu Dhabi and is very popular with both expats and locals offering a great multi-cultural community. Located just off the North Eastern coast of Abu Dhabi and only 5 minutes from Downtown Abu Dhabi City, Reem Island is a quiet place to live but still allows, with ease, the ability to be in the hustle and bustle of city life; within 10 minutes you can be on the Corniche enjoying the beach or some of Abu Dhabi’s five star hotels and restaurants.

With several communities located on the Island including Marina Square, Gate District, Shams, City of Lights and Najmat, the Island provides mainly apartment living with a select few exclusive villas.

Access on and off island is via two bridges giving accessibility to the other areas of Abu Dhabi. Al Reem Island sits alongside the exclusive Maryah Island where the Cleveland Clinic and The Galleria are located.

From education to shopping, as well as leisure facilities there is great range in the immediate vicinity of where you could live such as:

  • Schools – Repton School – A British curriculum school currently for age     3 -9
  • Nurseries – Mosaic Nursery and Humpty Dumpty are now open and we are sure more will pop up
  • Shops
  • Pharmacies
  • Supermarkets
  • Gymnasiums in each building
  • Community pools in each building

In our view the community benefits are:

  • There are high quality amenities
  • The accessibility around the Island is very easy
  • Reem Island is located within close proximity to main roads and highwaysReem Diamond
  • The buildings are all new
  • The variety of accommodation is there to suit all family needs
  • And we think offers value for money

But the community challenges are:

  • Access on and off the Island at peak hours can be busy so you need to keep this in mind if you need to commute to work or school
  • Whilst the Island is still developing, construction is still on going although this can be a great thing to watch for small boys who love diggers!
