Help Operation Smile UAE give the gift of smiles to children by volunteering or by buying a book at the charity Big Book Sale that will be held from 24 to 26 October 2019 at 10am to 11pm at Al Wahda Mall Abu Dhabi, main atrium. Volunteers can help in assisting visitors, organizing tables, and replenishing books.
Companies who wish to participate in the Big Book Sale are asked to provide 10-20 of their Employees to volunteer as a team for a 4 hour shift, helping to assist visitors, keep the display organised, and replenish books as they are sold.
The pre-loved books sold during the 3 day event are all generously donated to the Operation Smile UAE office by the public throughout the year and are sold very cheaply at prices averaging around 5-10 AED.
The funds generated through the book sales and the donations provided by our supporters go towards providing free, safe, corrective surgery for children and young adults born with cleft lip or cleft palate conditions both here in the UAE and in countries around the world.
Operation Smile is able to provide free surgery for as little as 880 AED thanks to the medical professionals who volunteer their time and corporations that donate critical supplies, equipment and facilities necessary for safe surgery.
Operation Smile is an international children’s medical charity that raises funds to support reconstructive surgery to heal children born with cleft lip or cleft palate conditions, changing their lives forever.
The Operation Smile UAE foundation was established in June 2011 under the patronage of HH Sheikha Aljazia Bint Saif Al Nahyan. Its goals are to spread awareness, raise funds and recruit medical volunteers from around the UAE to participate in medical missions and provide the much-needed safe surgeries.
