Al Qattara Arts Centre Cultural Programmes

DATES:

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) will be celebrating cultural diversity with special events in Al Ain until 2020.

The cultural activities will take place at Al Qattara Arts Centre, Al Ain Palace Museum, Al Jahili Fort and beyond. The events will offer a wide array of events and activities for everyone to enjoy!

The restored centre, which maintains a blend of traditional architecture with state-of-the-art facilities, features a dedicated dry studio for music classes and handicrafts, a wet studio for drawing and painting, a fully-equipped pottery studio, a digital room suitable for photography and computer classes, a spacious calligraphy studio as well as an exhibition hall, cafe and library.

Based in a renovated fort, the Al Qattara Arts Centre is a first of its kind in Al Ain, providing the city’s 400,000 residents a long-overdue opportunity to explore a variety of artistic avenues. The Al Qattara Arts Centre plays a unique role in Al Ain’s art and cultural scene. It is not only a place for people to see art, but also a place to create it.

Established in 2011, this venue is where art and culture can be studied, practised and developed by Emiratis. The centre’s art gallery displays art by  expatriate and Emirati artists. There also is a permanent venue for archaeological and heritage exhibits and studios for art classes.
