Tournament part of build-up towards establishing Abu Dhabi as the world’s martial arts capital
The Youth MMA Championship is set to sizzle in Abu Dhabi, featuring some of the best young talents in the country.
The one-day championships on Saturday, 20 May, will gather young fighters across different categories competing for the title at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City.
The Youth MMA Championship serves as a tune-up event for the UAE’s top young athletes ahead of the highly anticipated 2023 IMMAF Youth MMA World Championships, the premier event on the international calendar featuring champions from around the world. The MMA World Championships will run from 2-5 August at Mubadala Arena.

“The fifth edition of this tournament builds on the great successes achieved by the previous four editions, particularly in terms of attracting top fighters in various age categories,” said Brigadier Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s Mixed Martial Arts Committee.
“This event is aligned with the federation’s mission to promote the growth of MMA as a sport, and to reinforce Abu Dhabi’s position as the world’s martial arts capital and preferred destination for champions.”
The tournament is part of the UAE’s grassroots development efforts to promote mixed martial arts in the region.
