Discover Emirati heritage at the Sheikh Zayed Festival 2023

DATE & TIME

Fueled by the values of the UAE, the Sheikh Zayed Festival 2023 at Al Wathba offers visitors a chance to travel through Emirati history.

Designed for the entire family to learn and have fun, the Sheikh Zayed Festival is scheduled to take place from 18 November 2022 to 18 March 2023.

Under the patronage of the UAE president and the follow up of Mansour bin Zayed, the festival aims to celebrate and promote Emirati heritage through entertainment and cultural activities. While tickets are nominally priced at AED 5, there is free entry for people of determination, children under the age of three, and elders above the age of 65.

Characterised by broad international participation throughout the festival grounds, the objective here is to spread the UAE’s humanitarian message all over the world. Through thrilling events, activities, unique shows and exciting competitions, it’s the perfect setting for civilisation and cultural exchange in a fun and entertaining atmosphere.

The super-fun end of things is being helmed by Al Forsan International Sports Resort. From a climbing and obstacle course to a Rodeo Bull, a Dance Pad to a Live Pistol range, there’s no dearth of adrenaline-pumping activities to get the entire family invested!

At the DCT pavilion, get ready for several programmes including the folklore platform, which includes various performances of folklore such as Al-Razfa and Al-Ayala. Also slated is a presentation of UNESCO files, the adventures of the falcon Shaheen, which includes an explanation of the types of falcons and methods of training them and so much more.

For a poetic turn to the evening, head to the Poets’ Majles, which hosts a selection of poets of the local dialect, the Majlis: which includes a hospitality corner and a full explanation of the traditions in Arab Majlis, and the Marhaba Al-Sa’a, which is an Arabic coffee barn and methods of making coffee.

Through the festival, journey across the history of the UAE and its people, who have worked hard to create a prosperous and developed society.
