UAE residents can head to this iconic spot in Abu Dhabi for free on International Museum Day and enjoy!

International Museum Day 2023 is shaping up to be a great one, with free museum visits popping up across the UAE!

The latest to join the club is none other than the gorgeous Louvre Abu Dhabi! Located on Saadiyat Island, the museum is France’s largest cultural project abroad and boasts a host of exhibitions catering to different demographics.

And now, you can check out the pristine white domed space for free! For 24 hours on 18 May, celebrate International Museum Day surrounded by world-class art. Applicable to the UAE residents only, all you need to do is present your valid UAE ID at the ticket desk and enter for free.

The galleries, exhibitions, and boutique will stay open until 8.30pm, while the dome and restaurants will remain open until midnight.

International Museum Day was created by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in 1977 and honours a different theme every year.

Since 2020, it has focused on the Sustainable Development Goals, highlighting the role of museums to help shape sustainable futures through educational programmes, exhibitions, community outreach and research.
