Here is the programme:

Eye & Mermaid” by Shahad Ameen (14 min) tells the story of a 10-year-old girl named Hanan who lives in a fishing village on the Arabian Peninsula. Despite her desire to join her father on his nighttime fishing trips, she is always refused. Hanan becomes curious about the source of the black pearls her father brings home, which leads her to discover a disturbing truth about the cost of beauty.

The Intruder” by Majid Al Ansari (17 min) is a suspenseful tale about a couple and their unborn child who encounter a stranger in a remote desert at night. The intruder’s intentions are unclear, and as the couple faces imminent danger, they must figure out how to protect themselves.

Mid-Way” by Rola Shamas (10 min) is a contemplative film that explores our connection with nature and ourselves amidst the chaos of life. It features a rush of trains, but amidst the commotion, the viewer is encouraged to listen to the birds, rivers, and their inner voice.

Sabeel” by Khalid Al Mahmood (20 min) follows the daily lives of two young boys and their elderly grandmother who reside in the mountains of the UAE. They sell their vegetables on the road to earn enough money to buy medicine for their sick grandmother. The film portrays a tender, poignant story of their lives and their world.

Sarah” by Alaa Abo Farraj (17 min) is about a 20-year-old woman who is harboring a secret in her apartment that forces her to confront her fears and exposes her vulnerability in a harsh city.
