The UAE’s capital is all set to host the Asian Chess Summit in 2023.

Having hosted some pretty exciting sporting events this year, Abu Dhabi is keeping the streak going well into the next year too.

From 26 February to 3 March 2023, the capital will host the thrilling Asian Chess Summit. The announcement came during the meeting of the Executive Board of the Asian Chess Federation (ACF), which was chaired by Hisham Al Taher, Secretary-General of the Federation.

He confirmed that the summit will include many main and subsidiary activities with the participation of representatives of 54 countries from different regions of the Asian continent.

Al Taher said that the meeting of ACF’s General Electoral Assembly, which will be held on 28 February, will be one of the most prominent programmes of the summit. It is also scheduled that the Assembly will endorse the recommendation for the election of Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan as president for the fifth consecutive session until 2026.

Also among the most prominent programmes of the summit is the discussion of Russia’s accession to the Asian Chess Federation.
