
Five exhibitions link the past and present
A new tour suitable for all ages launches today, 22 March, at Al Ain Zoo, where the UAE’s aged-old irrigation system, Aflaj, is being showcased until 29 March.
The launch of the Sustainable Water Tour ties in with World Water Day, which is celebrated worldwide on 22 March.

You can catch the Sustainable Water Tour at the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre at Al Ain Zoo where visitors can learn about Aflaj, the historical heritage irrigation system and a sustainable resource for future generations, through no less than five exhibitions showcasing facilities, models, educational games, and various exhibits related to the Aflaj system.
The Aflaj irrigation system is said to be one of the oldest traditional irrigation methods used for 3,000 years.
