SeaWorld on Yas Island hosting ‘Shark’ talk next week

The talk will revolve around the future of research and conservation efforts concerning the shark populations in the Arabian Gulf

Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue Yas Island Abu Dhabi are hosting an event next week you can really sink your teeth into with its science talk on ‘Sharks’, featuring two exceptional experts in the field.

Dr. Julia Spaet, a seasoned research professional with a PhD in shark ecology and conservation boasting over 15 years of experience, will talk about how we can help safeguard and restore these beautiful marine animals’ populations.

This will be followed by Shamsa Al Hameli, fisheries assistant scientist at the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) who will present an overview of her studies on sharks in Abu Dhabi.

Enjoy a rich discussion between shark scientists and defenders, about why sharks matter, with information on their biology and ecology.

You will also have the chance to hear about the research studies focusing on sharks, currently carried out in Abu Dhabi’s waters and the Arabian seas.

Following the insightful presentations, there will be an engaging Q&A session and discussion that will revolve around the future of research and conservation efforts concerning the shark populations in the Arabian Gulf.
