Dubai to host final Rugby World Cup 2023 qualification tournament in November

The tournament will be held in a round-robin format.

The qualification tournament for the final place at Rugby World Cup 2023 will take place at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai.

Kicking off on 6 November and running until 18 November, the USA, Portugal, Hong Kong and Kenya will battle it out for the honour of taking their place at the 10th Rugby World Cup in France.

The winners of the round-robin tournament will be placed in Pool C alongside Wales, Australia, Fiji and Georgia.

Some 19 sides have already confirmed their place at the tournament that will be held for the second time in France.

England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, Wales, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Romania, Georgia, Japan, Namibia, Uruguay and Chile will all bid to wrestle the William Webb Ellis Cup from the grip of current champions, South Africa.

The announcement of the tournament means Dubai is set to be the centre of the rugby universe for a number of weeks with the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens following a two weeks after the conclusion of the qualifier tournament.
