The 10th FBMA International Show Jumping Cup promises a grand time

Hold your horses for the biggest prize pool in the tournament’s history and a number of international champs this time around.

Over 300 of the best riders from across the globe. 34 countries represented. An AED 800,000 prize pool.

Giddy up for the 10th edition of the FBMA International Show Jumping Cup! Organised by Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA), it’s one of the most respected competitions on the international equestrian circuit.

This year’s event will take place from 26-29 January at Abu Dhabi’s Al Forsan International Sports Resort. You can expect over 330 horses, ridden by over 300 riders from 34 countries as they compete across 20 classes from 6 different categories for a total prize money of AED 800,000 – the largest in the event’s history in recognition of the 10th milestone edition.

The categories include CSICH-A, CSIJ-A, CSIY-A,* Nationals Special, CSIYH1* and the main showpiece CSIL2*. What makes the event that much more special is the platform for female riders and showjumpers both across the UAE and internationally.

Among the 34 countries that will be represented include the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt, Great Britain, USA, India, South Africa and China.

That aside, the organisers have also revealed a ‘Professional Photography Workshop’ to be hosted by Hind Al Raeesi, an Emirati photographer that specialises in sports and portrait photography.

On from 28-29 January, participants will be taught the basics of photography using their smartphones, the important angles to take distinctive and high-quality pictures, and methods of editing using professional editing programmes. Talk about improving that ‘Gram game!

As with all the amazing festivals in the capital, you can always take a break from the show-jumping action and check out the wide range of activities and food trucks planned!
