UAE schools back to full capacity

School buses also given green light to be at 100 per cent capacity.

Schools and educational institutions in the UAE will be back to full capacity in January 2022 it has been announced.

The news comes as the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) updated its protocols to end distance learning.

School buses will operate at 100 per cent capacity, with passengers obliged to wear a facemask and PCR tests will continue to be mandatory to enter educational institutions.

Parents will also be allowed to attend events at educational facilities by displaying the Green Pass on the Al Hosn App and a negative PCR test result taken within 96 hours of arrival.

It is the latest update for schools in Abu Dhabi after it was announced in October that school trips and extra-curricular events would be brought back under relaxed measures.

On that occasion schools were also categorised by colour based on the percentage of students who were vaccinated.

Private schools in Dubai ended distance learning on 3 October while educational institutions in Sharjah are already operating at full capacity.
