Swim for Clean Seas unveils new environmental educational programme

The exciting initiative will culminate in a creative showcase at the 2024 Swim for Clean Seas event on 20 April

Dive into the future of ocean conservation as Swim for Clean Seas unveils its pioneering UAE School Ambassadorship programme in partnership with The Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center.

Founded by open-water enthusiasts Felicia and Almer Agmyren, this eco-conscious initiative, known for engaging communities in ocean-friendly activities, is now making waves in Abu Dhabi’s classrooms.

The programme invites schools to nominate students aged 10-14 as ambassadors, empowering them to champion the cause of clean and healthy seas. The first wave, aptly named ‘Plastic Asking,’ immerses students in an experiential learning journey.

Developed in collaboration with the Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center, the three workshops, commencing on 16 February, explore plastics’ global journey, scientific aspects, and human behavior, culminating in a creative showcase at the 2024 Swim for Clean Seas event on 20 April.

This dynamic approach not only fosters environmental consciousness but also presents an opportunity for the youth to actively participate in the global fight against ocean pollution.
