NAS Abu Dhabi hosted a vibrant World Languages Day event, showcasing French, Spanish, and German languages
PARTNER CONTENT: Recently, Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi (NAS) celebrated the rich tapestry of languages with its World Languages Day event, organised by the school’s Modern Foreign Language Department.
This lively event underscored the school’s commitment to cultural and linguistic education.
The event attracted participation from various embassies, including those of France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Mexico, Colombia, and Burkina Faso.
Representatives from these embassies engaged with the school’s Senior Leadership Team, attended an engaging assembly, toured the campus, and explored the diverse activities organized for the day.
Special guests from Sorbonne University, Headway Language Institute, UCAM Español Institute, Goethe Institute, and Alliance Française contributed significantly to the event’s success. They provided a range of engaging activities tailored to different year groups, enriching the experience for students and families alike.
A standout feature of the event was the Cultural Station, which hosted diverse activities and displays. Highlights included an exhibition on the Arabic heritage in Spain from the Embassy of Spain and an art gallery showcasing works by students from FS1 to Y8.
These artworks, inspired by French, Spanish, and German masterpieces, beautifully linked art, culture, and language, reflecting NAS Abu Dhabi’s dedication to fostering creativity and curiosity.
The assembly was a true spectacle, featuring performances by students from Y1 to Y8. They danced, sang in French, Spanish, and German, and played the Djembe. Professional dancers from Mosaic Dance and Music Institute and Capital Dance Center added to the excitement with their stunning performances.

NAS Abu Dhabi’s dedication to global understanding and cultural appreciation is evident through its comprehensive World Languages Programme.
This programme includes French, Spanish, German, and Mandarin alongside English, the primary language of instruction, and Arabic, part of the UAE Ministry of Education curriculum. Starting in the Foundation Stage, young learners embark on an extraordinary linguistic journey, introducing them to these languages.
The importance of this programme cannot be overstated. Early exposure to multiple languages isn’t just about acquiring linguistic skills; it’s about opening doors to the world.
