Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi embraces the spirit of Ramadan with a host of student-led initiatives driven by giving, inclusion and sustainability
As the holy month of Ramadan inspires reflection and generosity, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD) embraces the spirit with student-led initiatives focused on inclusion, compassion and sustainability.
In partnership with Emirates Red Crescent, the university has rallied students, staff and families to deliver food boxes to local labour communities, championing the values of unity and kindness through the Grace Conservation Programme.
The initiatives don’t stop there. Students have marked Zero Discrimination Day, hosted a cross-cultural iftar for international peers, and distributed food to campus workers— strengthening the sense of community and building a caring environment.
Inclusion also takes centre stage in sport, with the third annual Ramadan Climb for Inclusion and a Judo Inclusion Tournament welcoming participants of all abilities.
SUAD’s “Donate Your Own Device” campaign, part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, is helping under-resourced schools worldwide access vital digital tools.
Even animals are part of the story, thanks to the university’s Animal Welfare Club, whose creative activities include adoption drives and the delightfully named “Cat Yoga”.
It’s all part of SUAD’s wider mission to nurture responsible, compassionate global citizens. And for students looking to join the journey, the university is offering a 10% Early Bird Discount for those who enrol before 30 April.
The initiative is designed to ease financial barriers and open doors for students to pursue their academic goals.
