Sheikh Nahyan inaugurates American Community School’s new Saadiyat Island campus, celebrating a key milestone
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, inaugurated the American Community School of Abu Dhabi’s new campus on Saadiyat Island.
The inauguration ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting event and was attended by notable guests, including Martina Strong, U.S. Ambassador to the UAE; Saif Al Mazrouei, Advisor to the Minister of Education; Lana Nusseibeh, UAE Assistant Minister for Political Affairs; Salem Alnuaimi, Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Pension Fund; Monique Flickinger, ACS Superintendent; and Matt Ayoub, ACS Board Chair.
Sheikh Nahyan unveiled the dedication plaque and invited Grade 4 and 5 students to plant a Ghaf tree from Sheikh Zayed’s Gardens in Al Ain, marking a significant milestone in ACS’s 51-year history.
He emphasised the school’s role in the UAE’s educational legacy and its contributions to the nation’s growth and cultural heritage.

Sheikh Nahyan said, “I offer my best wishes for the continued success of the American Community School. May it continue to be a major centre of learning and a model for excellent education in the UAE and the world.”
Monique Flickinger, ACS Superintendent, thanked the Abu Dhabi Government and Sheikh Nahyan for their support. “Today we celebrate ACS’s profound historical ties with Abu Dhabi, a relationship rooted in mutual respect and shared values over 50 years.”
The new campus dedication underscores the strong ties between the UAE and the United States, with ACS exemplifying cultural diplomacy and commitment to excellence, innovation, and global citizenship.
