Students take on adventure, leadership and confidence in DofE
The British International School Abu Dhabi (BIS Abu Dhabi) marks a milestone year in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE) with record-breaking participation and its first-ever Gold Award achievers.
This year, 111 Bronze and 99 Silver participants took on the challenge of navigating the diverse landscapes of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah during their practice and qualifying expeditions.

Meanwhile, the Gold cohort is preparing for their final journey—an expedition in Borneo that promises to be unforgettable.
The DofE programme encourages young people to develop resilience, leadership, and life skills through volunteering, physical activity, and outdoor expeditions. With guidance from staff, students at BIS Abu Dhabi are engaging with new challenges, contributing to their communities, and working towards personal growth.
