You can now check school vaccination rates in Abu Dhabi

Numbers will be updated every two weeks.

Parents can now check their child’s classroom vaccination rates thanks to the Abu Dhabi Blue Schools Initiative being integrated with the Al Hosn app.

The update announced by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and Alhosn National Health System will enabled parents to see the percentages and numbers of pupils vaccinated in their child’s school.

However, vaccination information will remain anonymous in order to ensure student privacy and will be updated every fortnight.

You can access the new information by adding your children to your personal Al Hosn account and accessing the Abu Dhabi Blue Schools pass on the app.

ADEK Undersecretary, His Excellency Amer Al Hammadi, said the new measure will deliver maximum transparency for parents.

HE Amer Al Hammadi said “We believe this honest, responsible and private utilization of data will afford increased visibility and encourage more parents to play their role in fostering health and safety across the emirate’s education ecosystem.”

Launched in October 2021, the Abu Dhabi Blue Schools initiative encourages immunisation of all students to increase protection against COVID-19 and its variants.

At the time of writing, 42 schools are in the yellow tier; 22 in the green tier; and two schools are in the blue tier after achieving more than 85 per cent vaccination rates for students attending schools physically.

It is the latest measure to be introduced into the education sector as authorities attempt to limit the spread of COVID-19 after the decision was taken to move schools to remote learning for the first two weeks of the new term.
