REVIEW: Breakfast is served at Namak Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi

Head to the back streets of India right here in the capital to fill up on authentic street food.

PARTNER CONTENT: There’s almost three million Indian nationals residing in Abu Dhabi which can mean only one thing; there’s a dearth of Indian cuisine at one’s fingertips to savour.

Taking it the next level is Namak at Dusit Thani where  the colours and dishes of India wait discerning diners. And with the launch of Grand Nashta, or Grand Breakfast, now is a brilliant time to be savouring Indian cuisine in Abu Dhabi.

If you don’t know Namak, and you certainly should since it was recently selected by the Michelin guide, it’s a kaleidoscope of colours and elegance where a rather ornately carved wooden door greets diners. The venue’s bold colour scheme, gracious and warm reception transports you right away to the vibrant and cultural feel of India.

The Grand Nashta, which recently launched, promises breakfast with flavours from all corners of India. Greeted with a glass of mango lassi, we sat our table surrounded by the colours of India.

The hand painted teapots, from which endless cups of karak chai were poured, are an absolute delight to the eyes, as was the tea to the tastebuds.

Head over to the buffet, which is laid out like a colourful back street in India, where chefs are cooking homemade, Indian street food delights.

No grand breakfast is ever devoid of eggs and, of course, the Grand Nashta has eggs aplenty in the form of Anda, which is scrambled eggs but in glorious Indian style and cooked to perfection in front of you.

Other delights include homemade Namkheen , Layered Marathi, Steamed Idly and a myriad of flavours from the Chaat Counter, among many others. And for those with a sweet tooth (who hasn’t?), there are plenty of servings of Kesari Halwa, Gulab Jamun, Kheer and a rather delicious cream bun!

In an eclectic space within the Dusit Thani hotel, Grand Nashta  at Namak serves flavour-packed plates in unique combinations,  preparing for a gastronomical journey like no other.

And as the old saying goes, north, south, east and west, Grand Nashta is the best.

Go try it!
