For those who love to slip into lycra, strap on a helmet and hit the road, cycling is one of the most relaxing (and healthy) ways to clear your mind after a long day’s work.

And Abu Dhabi cyclists are very lucky indeed as the emirate offers up some top places for you to put your rubber tyres onto the track.

Here are six amazing places to go cycling in Abu Dhabi.

 

321 Sports

 

 

Our first stop on our places to go cycling in Abu Dhabi sees us leave the city centre and cross over the bridge to Hudayriyat Island to 321 Sports. Offering a 10km flood lit cycling track, meaning you can cycle during the day or night, cyclists can challenge themselves to 3km, 5km, 8km or 10km loops of the track. Free to use, you can bring your own bike or rent one from a number of vendors located in the Hudayriyat Leisure and Entertainment District. For more information 321sports.ae

 

Al Ain Zoo

The zoo is probably not the first place you think of when it comes to cycling but Al Ain Zoo’s bicycle trail is one of the most popular places to get on your bike. Open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5pm to 9pm, you and your friends can zoom around the zoo while checking out all the fantastic animals who are resident in the animal sanctuary. Al Wathba cycle track

You will find an evening cycle underneath the stars in the desert is amazing as it sounds at this fantastic facility in Al Wathba. Encompassing Al Wathba Lake, the illuminated track offers several different routes for different levels of cyclists. It is recommended that beginners try out the 8km or 16km loops with more experienced-riders taking on the 20km, 22km or full 30km routes. Hudayriyat Mar Vista

 

 

We are back on our bikes to Hudayriyat Island for this next cycling place in Abu Dhabi. Providing cyclists a network of tracks that wind through the recreational park and along the edges of green spaces, you will be able to explore the nature of this up and coming island. And when you complete your 5km or 10km, head to the food stop area where you can treat yourself to a delicious burger or hotdog from one of the food trucks. Yas Marina Circuit

 

 

This next cycling track is a thrilling experience for any cyclist no matter your age or size. Every Monday and Wednesday, you can put rubber on to tarmac and complete as many laps as you wish at the world-famous racing track, free of charge.
