Louvre Abu Dhabi launches new exhibitions

The new calendar of events at Louvre Abu Dhabi is set to capture the imagination of the public

We all know that Abu Dhabi is rife with interesting things to do and see throughout the week, but one of our historical gems has added to that inspiring list with by announcing new exhibitions at Louvre Abu Dhabi.

The iconic museum has just revealed a calendar of events and exhibitions for the 2024-2025 season, supporting creativity and cultural exchange through partnerships with global museums and art galleries, showcasing a diverse range of artistic expression and themes.

The museum is already hosting its first exhibition of the year, From Kalīla wa Dimna to La Fontaine: Travelling through Fables, which has been a huge success.

But the 2024-2025 season includes two new exhibitions, the 4th Louvre Abu Dhabi Art Here and Richard Mille Art Prize, alongside the addition and display of new loans, workshops and educational programmes.

The forthcoming season aims to facilitate cultural exchange, enhance knowledge and understanding, and showcase artistic expression from across the world to visitors.

With Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille, Louvre Abu Dhabi has launched an annual exhibition and art prize that illuminates the extraordinary contemporary art scene in the UAE and GCC.

The museum is creating a new stage for regional artists, giving them a platform to be seen and heard, and a space in which to express themselves and come together.

For the fourth edition of Art Here, Louvre Abu Dhabi is calling on contemporary artists from the GCC and North Africa (nationals and residents) working in sculpture and audio-visual installations suitable for outdoor spaces, to become part of its universal story.

The overall aim is to support art practitioners in the region by giving them a central platform for expression in Art Here 2024. The application deadline is 31 May and the inauguration of the exhibition: September 2024.
