Unite with Korean Culture

Manarat Al Saadiyat Korean photography

Lovers of Korean photography and Korean culture can unite at Manarat Al Saadiyat as the new exhibition Arirang Narsha has been unveiled. Running until 19 June, the free of charge exhibit looks at the beauty of Korean traditional dance through the unique interpretation of Korean artist Yang Jaemoon.

Some 22 pieces of photography are on display at the arts centre with Jaemoon’s works inspired by Jinju Gyobang Gutgeori (four-beat structure with three subdivisions), Geommu (a sword dance), Cheoyongmu (Dance of Cheoyong) and a Nongak (Samulnori, five-person dance).

However, if you just so happen to be out of Abu Dhabi until 19 June, don’t worry as the exhibition will move to the Korean Cultural Centre at the Yas Creative Hub, where it will be displayed from 22 June to 24 July.

Pisco Jar Art Project

If you head to one of Abu Dhabi’s hottest spots, COYA Abu Dhabi, this June, you will more than likely catch a glimpse of 10 amazing pieces of artwork. As part of the run-up to the restaurant’s 10-year anniversary, the Pisco Jar Art Project has joined forces with the other nine COYA branches around the globe to create a special art collection.

Teaming up with five of the Emirate’s five most artistic minds, 10 unique and distinctive jars will be on display at the venue’s bar for aesthetes and guests at which to marvel.

The artists include Ramsha Sh, Farida Abushady, Emirati painters Moza Al Mansoori and Hissa Almansoori and Fatima Al Hammadi.

Used to store a traditional Peruvian beverage, each COYA branch will display the specially designed jars for guests to admire and appreciate from June onwards.
